Eco Green Living's 2.5L Compostable Resealable Zip Lock Bags are a versatile, plastic-free alternative to conventional sandwich or storage bags. Made from renewable, plant-based materials and certified compostable to EN13432 standards, they're large enough for leftovers, lunch prep, snacks, chopped produce, or freezer storage. The secure zip-lock closure keeps food fresh and prevents leaks, and the bags can be lightly reused before composting. BPA-free, non-toxic, and suitable for both dry and moist food — a practical, everyday eco swap for any kitchen. Packaged in plastic-free, recyclable cardboard.

How it works

Take a bag from the pack and open it by pressing the zip seal apart along the top edge. Fill with food or other items, leaving a small gap at the top, then press the zip seal firmly closed from one side to the other until it clicks shut. The bags are freezer safe — simply label with the contents and date and place directly in the freezer. The bags can be rinsed and lightly reused before composting. Once done, remove the zip closure and compost or dispose of the bag responsibly.

Absolutely amazing

These bamboo kitchen towels are absolutely amazing. I was a bit doubtful at first whether they would work (and would actually be reusable), but they are just perfect. They soak up any spillage really well, and easily wipe any kitchen surface dry. They are basically like a cloth, but lighter and easier to handle. I use them for most of my cleaning now.
To wash them, I just put them in the washing machine alongside my normal laundry. I bought a pack several months ago, and they are still going strong, with no sign of needing any replacement. This has saved me so much money, as I haven't had to buy any normal kitchen towels any more (which afterwards just go to waste).

The cling wrap is incredible, saves me a mental breakdown each time!!

Each segment is what seems to be made like sheets so there’s no way of loosing where you are as it tears in a straight line. Saves me the time of fiddling around trying to find the edge. Which normally means I’m having to get a knife out and fight myself back into the cling wrap.

Trying out a few products to see if the simple swaps are worth while. Making sure the quality is there which oh my goodness is! I couldn’t think of now buying bin liners, foil and cling wrap.

I’m excited to try the other products they have in the online store as the quality, the ethos and being eco friendly is a massive hit for our household.

These bin bags are insane.

When I first saw Eco Green living products, I thought amazing there’s some products out there that are eco friendly for some of the worst products you can have that will affect the eco system. But I was worried about the quality of the product because of it being eco friendly .. but was I wrong! Yes I was.

You know the standard bin bags you have that are thin, flimsy and break as soon as you put anything in them. Lifting them out and there’s holes in which tend to spill bin juices everywhere before taking them outside.

Well these are just incredible!

They have some sort of stretch to the product. Perfect for holding all the items you tend to put in the bin together.

I would love to see the product in different colours in the future but for now, I’m so happy with my bright green eco friendly waste bags.

I also must add that these waste bags are higher quality

How long do your products take to break down?

Breakdown times depend on the environment. In a standard home garden compost heap, our bags typically degrade within 6–12 months. In industrial composting facilities where heat is controlled, they are designed to disintegrate completely within 12 weeks. Our materials are also certified to return to nature within 2 years in marine environments without leaving harmful residues.

What is the difference between "Biodegradable" and "Compostable"?

"Biodegradable" is a broad term that lacks a specific timeframe and can leave behind micro-residues. "Compostable" (specifically our TÜV OK Compost Home certification) is a strict standard. It verifies that our products will break down into non-toxic CO2, water, and minerals within a set period, ensuring the resulting soil is safe for growing plants.

Is the corn starch used in your bags GMO-free?

Yes, transparency is our priority. All plant-based starches used in our certified compostable bags are 100% GMO-free. Furthermore, our compostable cling wrap is formulated without any corn starch at all, instead utilizing a specialized plant-based blend for superior stretch and performance to serve as a high-quality alternative to conventional plastic.

Are your delivery methods and packaging sustainable?
