General Product Information

What does compostable mean?

Compostable products are certified to break down completely into non-toxic components (water, carbon dioxide) that will not harm the environment. Our compostable products are proven to break down within 6 months on land and 2 years in the ocean. This can put your mind at ease, knowing that eventually no trace of your purchase will be left on the planet.

What is PBAT?

PBAT (polybutylene adipate terephthalate) is a fully biodegradable polymer. PBAT combines some of the beneficial attributes of synthetic and bio based polymers. It is derived from common petrochemicals- purified terephthalic acid, butanediol and adipic acid. It is fully biodegradable.
When buried in real soil environments, it breaks down completely and leaves no toxic residues behind.

What is PLA?

Polylactic Acid (PLA) is different than most thermoplastic polymers in that it is derived from renewable resources like corn starch or sugar cane. It is therefore fully plant based.
Why is PBAT blended with PLA?
The results indicated that the durability and toughness properties were greatly improved when PLA is blended with PBAT.

Are your products GMO free?

Our compostable cling film is made from a mix of PBAT and PLA which does not include any corn starch material, so it has no relationship with GMO.

Our compostable bags include corn starch material, but the corn starch is GMO free too.

FAQ's

Product Info Bamboo Nappies

What is the packaging made from?

It is a D2W Polybag. This is compostable and will degrade within 18 months.

What makes them a better choice for parents and children?

A variety of reasons.
• The nappy has a 100% Bamboo fibre top sheet and back sheet which allows fresh air to circulate through the nappy keeping your baby’s skin dry.
• The super absorbent core with wood pulp which locks in moisture to keep the surface dry.
• A handy wetness indicator to let you know when your baby needs to be changed.
• A soft frontal tape which provides a quieter release during night-time changes.
• An elastic waistband to provide a snug fit with adjustable triple strength tabs to allow your baby to move more freely.
• Flexible and stretchy side panels, ensuring a better fit and increased comfort for active babies.
• Absolutely no harmful chemicals at all.

Why make the switch to biodegradable nappies?

It takes up to 500 years for regular disposable nappies to decompose. By switching to a more sustainable and natural nappy, you are putting your child and the planet first.

How many nappies come in a pack?

Small: 36 nappies per pack
Medium: 32 nappies per pack
Large: 30 nappies per pack
Extra Large: 28 nappies per pack

Why Bamboo?

The benefits of Bamboo products are endless. Bamboo is used for its softness, biodegradability, and sustainability.

How absorbent are the nappies?

Very absorbent! The super absorbent core is one of the key differentiating factors of the nappy. The nappies use a unique peroration process which allows fresh air to circulate and wick moisture away, all while absorbing nearly twice as much as regular nappies. Your baby will stay drier and more comfortable due to the unique approach to moisture management and the high performing wicking properties of the materials used.

Are the nappies safe for my babies’ sensitive skin?

Yes, absolutely! The nappies are both hypoallergenic and antibacterial. They contain no harmful ingredients and no added fragrances.

Do the nappies contain any nasty chemicals?

Nope. There are no nasty chemicals at all. We’re proud to say the nappies are:
0% Chlorine
0% Phthalates
0% Dioxin
0% Alcohol
0% Latex
0% Fragrances

What size nappy does my baby need?

Newborn: Fits babies up to 10lbs or <4.5kg

Medium: Fits babies 13-22lbs or 6-10kg
Large: Fits babies 20-31lbs or 9-14kg

• About 97% PBAT (polybutylene adipate terephthalate)
biodegradable & compostable
• about 3% PLA (Polylactide, which is made from
waste corn and other plants) biodegradable & compostable

What is PBAT?

PBAT (polybutylene adipate terephthalate) is a fully biodegradable polymer. When buried in real soil environments, it breaks down completely and leaves no toxic residues behind.

What is PLA?

Polylactic Acid (PLA) is different than most thermoplastic polymers in that it is derived from renewable resources like corn starch or sugar cane. It is therefore fully plant based.

Is it suitable for home composting?

Yes! Our cling film is suitable for home composting as well as industrial composting. Whether home or commercially composted, the bioplastics will break down without creating methane or emitting any toxins harmful to our environment.

Is it certified compostable?

Yes! Our compostable cling film is certified with the European standard EN 13432. This defines the characteristics a finished product must fulfil in order to be recovered through organic recovery. This certificate certifies the product as compostable and fits these criteria:
• is biodegradable under composting conditions.
• disintegrates completely in one composting cycle.
• has no toxic effects and does not release heavy metals over a given value into the compost
• has no negative effect on the composting process itself.
The certificate is achieved through rigorous testing including Disintegration test ; Non-toxic test, Heavy metal content test ; Compost test.

Is it freezable?

We do not recommend using this product in the freezer, there are other green alternatives that suit this more including reusable tubs and beeswax wraps.

FAQ's

Product Information Recycled Tin Foil

Can it be recycled?

Yes! Our tin foil is 100% recycled and endlessly recyclable- now that’s what we call a circular economy!

How come it takes less energy to produce?

Our recycled tin foil takes 95% less energy to produce than regular tin foil. This is because the foil is made from Post consumer recycled aluminium- meaning it has had a life previously. The extraction of aluminium is very energy intensive, therefore creating more energy and subsequently more carbon entering the earth’s atmosphere.
