The Bag For Every Job, A Guide To Our Bag Sizes

The Bag For Every Job, A Guide To Our Bag Sizes

Every bag we make is built for a specific job. Using the right size means fewer torn bags, less waste and less money spent buying the wrong thing twice. Here's the full range in one place.

Compostable range, for food and garden waste

  • 10 Litre: kitchen food waste caddies. Certified compostable, EN13432, TUV Austria OK compost home and industrial.
  • 30 Litre: small bathroom or office bins, or a lighter kitchen bin. Certified compostable to the same standard.
  • 60 Litre: a standard kitchen pedal bin. Certified compostable, TUV Austria OK compost home and industrial.
  • 140 Litre: garden waste, larger outdoor bins, or a big autumn clear out. Certified compostable, TUV Austria OK compost home and industrial.

Recycled range, for general household waste

  • 50 Litre and 90 Litre drawstring bags: made from 100 percent post consumer recycled LDPE, Global Recycled Standard and Blue Angel certified. These are for general rubbish, not food waste or composting.

Food storage, not bin bags

  • 2 Litre and 4 Litre freezer bags: food, fridge and freezer safe, for storing and freezing food.
  • 0.5 Litre zip loc bags: snacks, lunches, leftovers. Certified compostable for industrial composting.

How to choose in ten seconds

Ask what's going in the bag. Food waste or garden waste, pick the compostable range. General household rubbish, pick the recycled range. Storing food in the fridge or freezer rather than throwing it away, pick freezer bags or zip loc bags.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the recycled bin bags compostable?

No. The 50 Litre and 90 Litre drawstring bags are made from recycled plastic, not compostable material. They're the right choice for general waste, not food or garden waste.

Can I use a 60 Litre compostable bag for garden waste instead of a 140 Litre?

You can, if the volume fits. The main difference between sizes is capacity, not what they're made from. All our compostable bin liners are certified to the same TUV Austria OK compost home and industrial standard.

Which bag should go in my council food waste caddy?

Check your council's own guidance first, since accepted certifications vary by area. Where certified compostable caddy liners are accepted, our 10 Litre bag is sized for standard kitchen caddies.
